CDMFC is a group of dedicated enthusiasts dedicated to the enjoyment of all form of Radio control aircraft. The club has approximately 60 members of all ages and interests, the club being affiliated to the national body BMFA. We are always willing to welcome new fliers to our club and happy to give advice and have training equipment available for new people to the Hobby. Drone Registration the Latest Situation.

 After prolonged negociations the CAA have a arrived reasonable solution to new legistration the government have announced in the Queens Speech. Set out below is what the BMFA propose to offer. There is a similar scheme being offered by the LMA.
All people that fly drones  over 250g, outdoors and under 20kg are required to register. If you do not have a BMFA A cert or higher or a LMA proficiency cert you will be required to take the education and test on the goverment website.
The CAA have agreed to recognise our members’ Achievements as an alternative to their online test and allow us to administer registration of Operators as part of our membership process.  A few key points to note are that:

BBQ and Flying Evening Saturday 20th April

 The club is holding a flying evening and BBQ at WGC this Easter Saturday. 6pm till late.
They are promising much warmer weather this weekend and good flying conditions.
£ 7.50 a head for adults. Pls can you contact me  with numbers to help us cater correctly.

Flying Evening and BBQ Sat 11 August

 At the end of club flying week we are holding an evening flying session followed by a BBQ. It wil be a roast pork BBQ with burgers and hot dogs. Flying and BBQ start t 6.0 pm.

Autumn Club Meeting, Saturday 25th November 4.30 pm

 The glider club is holding its autumn meeting as above. Although their AGM is in April the purpose of this meeting is to report on the activities of the season and discuss the maintenance programme for the winter. It is also an opportunity for any topics to be discussed.
All members are invited to this meeting, gliding and model. If you can make it please come.

BBQ Saturday 3 rd June at the club.

After last Mondays damp but very enjoyable BBQ we are having another.
There will by model flying on the main runway again with some jet action. Hopefully this time without the mist, though it did make it very spectacular with the L39 landing lights shinning through.
This is no ordinary BBQ, there are burgers, sausage, pork belly and chicken with all the trimmings. £6.50 a head. Pls message me how many are coming as the food is bought according to the demand. You can say here or message Andy Bennett on the yahoo group. Pls bring your own beverages, tea and coffee will be provided.

 I am sorry to have to announce that Adrain Long died in hospital on Saturday 9th April. Adrian had been ill for that last few months battling cancer. Adrain was a club member for many years on and off as his circustances allowed and a modeller for all of his life. He will be saddly missed by those who knew him.

2017 Members Fee

The membership fee for 2017 has been set at the AGM as shown below.
Senior Fee = £103
Junior Fee = £17.00
Senior with own BMFA Insurance = £70
Flying at the current Spanhoe site will continue until the 28th Jan 2017. Flying after this date will be at the clubs new location. More details to follow around the new sites location and facilities.
As with previous years. To continue flying after the 31 Dec 2016 all members must have renewed their club membership. Payment can be made to any Committee Member. Treasurer for 2017 is Chris Yates
Note: The increase in fees this year is as a result of increased costs with the new flying site.

Rememberance Sunday 13/11/2016

 This Sunday is Rememberance Sunday and there will be the usual Service at 11am at the memorial at Spanhoe Aerodrome entrance.The club lays a wreath every year in memory of all the airmen that lost their lives flying from Spanhoe in WW11. As a mater of respect the club requests that no one flys at the site until after 11 am on the day. All are welcome at the memorial service.

2016 AGM

 This years AGM will be held at 7.30 pm 13/12/2016 at Desborough Conservative club.Details will be sent in the post of how to find the venue for those who haven't been before.
Nomination forms for the 2017 committe will be in the caravan for the next 4 weeks
Any motions for the meeting must be in writting to the secretary 7 days be fr the meeting so they can go out to all members before the meeting.

Bonfire Party

 There will be a bonfire party this Sunday 6th November at the flying site. As you all know this is likely to be the last year we will be able to do this because of the qarrying starting next spring.
There will be some night flying as well as burgers and hot dogs.
You are all welcome to bring family and your own fireworks.
The weather is looking clear and dry so it should be a really nice evening. Come along and enjoy a fun evening with your club members.
